From Derry to the World

A Voice Forged in the North of Ireland

Conor McGinty, Irish tenor from Derry City

Conor McGinty is an award-winning Irish singer-songwriter, entertainer & performer from the heart of Derry City, in the North of Ireland — bringing Echoes of Ireland to the world stage. Irish Folk/Pop/Rock/Contemporary Crossover Artist.

Discovered at just seventeen after winning a local talent competition, Conor took his powerful voice gigging across Ireland and beyond. In 2016 he gained national attention on The X Factor UK on ITV — earning four yeses in his audition and a seat at the Six Chair Challenge, placing among the final 30 contestants. His heartfelt version of “Say Something” has since reached multiple millions of views online.

Conor has appeared on ITV, BBC, RTÉ and UTV on multiple occasions, and has shared the stage with — and earned praise from — Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh, Danny O’Donoghue (The Script frontman), Tommy Fleming, Roma Downey, Cheryl Cole and Rita Ora, to name a few. His debut album A New Dawn and festive release This Christmas both topped the iTunes World Music Chart, in 2019 and 2022 respectively.

He is known for his sold-out theatre shows in Derry — A New Dawn (City Hotel & Millennium Forum) and Revival — and for his celebrated stage production “A Journey Back Home,” which premiered at the Ebrington Hotel in 2024 to great reviews. Conor also joint-produced, sang on and helped create “Moving On – No Going Back,” a peace anthem made in conjunction with Co-operation Ireland and the Northern Ireland Executive in 2019, coinciding with the planting of the peace tree in Ebrington Square.

In 2023, he delivered a critically acclaimed rendition of “Amhrán na bhFiann” for President Michael D. Higgins at the FAI President’s Cup Final, before 7,000 spectators in Derry — becoming the first man ever to sing the Irish national anthem for any sitting Irish President, in the North of Ireland.

In 2025, Conor was awarded the “Arts & Culture Icon Award” in his hometown of Derry by the Derry Journal — a tribute to his growing legacy as one of Ireland’s most powerful and dynamic vocalists, with a loyal following of over 100,000 across social media.

Conor has performed to capacity crowds at Wembley Arena and Alexandra Palace in London, the Millennium Forum in Derry, 3Arena in Dublin and many other theatres across the UK and Ireland. In 2026 he launched his acclaimed new show “Echoes of Ireland” to a 700-strong crowd at the Millennium Forum — and received 8 standing ovations.
